Choosing a new computer

Choosing a new computer in 2021 is a difficult choice at best. If all you need is to keep in touch with friends and family it could be a smart phone is all you need today. If you have other needs it is still difficult to fulfill many of these with just a smart phone.

If portability is important then a laptop is the best choice. If speed or high capacity storage is important then a desktop would serve you better.

To increase the speed of the computer for the life of the computer here are my recommendations. More memory makes a computer work much faster. A newer generation processor is like a turbo charge on a computer. Solid state storage (SSD) makes a computer fly and they tend to stay quick longer.
